The first presidential debate took place last Friday at the University of Mississippi. The debate focused on issues of the current Wall Street bailout, foreign policy, and the war in Iraq. These issues were seen as previous strong points for candidate McCain. Gallup/USA Today poll is indicating that Americans saw that 46% of Americans thoughts Senator Obama did a better job, with 34% preferring McCain. McCain’s position in Septermber has been slipping with the majority of Americans feeling Obama is the stronger candidate asfar as the struggling economy and stock market.
